Proposal

Works to The Bays building comprising demolition of the existing roof, internal floors, internal walls and ground floor slab; retention of, and alteration to, the existing external walls and facade; and construction of new four-storey vertical extension, plus a roof level including a rooftop terrace, to provide a mixed-use building comprising: Exhibition, education and multifunctional space; Healthcare research laboratories and consulting rooms with associated clinical spaces; and/or Offices, workspace and meeting space. Demolition of existing portacabin, waste store, Vacuum Insulated Evaporator tank and compound; construction of a 2-storey ancillary pavilion structure; new public realm; new hard and soft landscaping; works to the canal wall; together with provision of servicing, refuse storage, cycle parking, plant equipment and all other associated works. Collectively to be known as the Fleming Centre (Sui Generis use).
