Full Proposal
Request to remove 1x early mature Cedar tree, Cedrus Deodara. The tree risks future impact on the historical boundary wall. The base is located less than 1m away. It is a notable feature of the listed building, and a land retaining wall. The current impact is on the neighbours at 10 Bradley Road, who are an elderly retired couple. They are now unable to park in their allocated space due to constant needle debris which damages the paintwork finish, and gathers in the cars wipers and rubber seals. And because they have to park away from the tree against the gates, they cannot accommodate a second car, or any guest vehicles. The tree is on their westerly boundary, fairly exposed to prevailing winds and on an elevated level. They are extremely anxious in bad weather and state it is very badly affecting their mental health and they both suffer greatly from sleepless nights. Ever increasing winds affect their daily ability to keep up with the removal and disposal of the needle debris, which is now a twice daily chore, and they find to be a very physically demanding task. The tree was planted by the owner, unaware of the large stature in full maturity. It is not visible nor valuable to the surrounding area, so loss would be negligible. Prefer not to replace due to lack of suitable space, but would be willing if that was a condition the tree officer wishes to apply. Whilst the reason are not arboricultural, they are founded in a need for domestic, personal and property coexistence, safety and concerns, as outlined above.
